Midnight Herbarium | Large One-Of-a-Kind Papier-Mache Wall Artwork

Midnight Herbarium is a one-of-a-kind sculptural wall piece handmade from recycled paper.
At its centre, a large botanical leaf impression emerges from layers of deep midnight blue, charcoal and weathered silver tones. Thousands of tiny raised details reveal the delicate structure of the leaf, while the irregular outer edge preserves the organic character of the handmade process.
Rather than trying to make papier-mâché perfectly smooth, I allow the material to remain visible. Its fibres, uneven surface and traces of the making process become part of the artwork itself.
Light changes the piece throughout the day. In softer light it appears almost monochromatic; in direct light, the metallic and textured surfaces begin to reveal subtle variations of blue, graphite and silver.
With its generous 50 cm diameter, the piece is designed to stand alone as a statement artwork, bringing texture and a quiet botanical presence to a living room, bedroom, hallway or contemporary interior.
Created slowly and entirely by hand from recycled paper. Only one exists.
