White Earth — Sculptural Paper Mâché Vase

A quiet sculptural object shaped by hand.

White Earth is an entirely handmade paper mâché vase created from paper and transformed slowly, layer by layer, into an organic sculptural form.

Its silhouette is intentionally irregular. The rounded body rises into a simple narrow neck, while the lower part expands into several sculptural forms that give the piece the feeling of something shaped by nature rather than by a mould.

The entire surface is finished in white, allowing the texture and form to become the main focus. Light moves across the uneven surface throughout the day, revealing small shadows, depressions and raised textures.

I am drawn to objects that do not need to be perfectly smooth or symmetrical to feel beautiful. The small imperfections of handmade work are part of what gives an object its character and its sense of life.

This piece can be displayed as a decorative vase, with dried flowers or branches, or simply as a sculptural object on its own.
